Where Does Pain Come From? ~”Were Does Pain Start and Where Does It STOP?” Dr. Bunny asks Dr. Johannes Ramirez, MD.  Dr. J replies  “Pain is a blessing.”  Our bodies are telling us that something is wrong.

There is a condition where some people don’t feel pain, and they have to be very mindful to not seriously injure themselves.  For most of us, it is an intermittent condition.  After surgery and some treatments, we may still experience pain.

As inconvenient as it is, Dr. Bunny and Dr. J agree that we need discomfort – it helps us grow!  It spurs us on to achieve higher goals.  If we choose to avoid the pain with medication or drugs, it can cause serious injury and death.  Heroin has a long history as one of those drugs.  It used to be in all kinds of treatments for things like stomach-ache, asthma, heartburn and for addiction to lesser drugs!

As Dr. J says, heroin was good for everything and didn’t do anything. Opioids are now killing 50,000 people per year mostly from overdoses.  The drug delivers less relief from symptoms as the person continues to take it.  More is needed to deliver relief and this often results in liver damage, kidney damage, brain damage, and eventually heart failure.

Don’t ignore your pain and your challenges Dr. Bunny and Dr. J urge.  The goal is to confront our lives head-on and face our challenges in a conscious sober way.
