Johannes Ramirez Boden, M.D. – Vitality And Longevity Centers – Pain Relief Or Addiction? The Use And Misuse Of Opioids.

It is Dr. Johannes Ramirez Boden’s birthday today!  Happy Birthday Dr. J!

In today’s show, Dr. J and Dr. Bunny continue their conversation on opioids.

Opioids have a narcotics function and pain relieving function.  Also everyone who has to try an opioid will not become an addict.  One needs to have an underlying brain wiring that results in addiction – an addictive brain. Most people will not get addicted when trying an opioid.

Medicines can be used to cure but also are poisons and when used in the extreme dosages can kill.  In talking about opioid addiction, Dr. J and Dr. Bunny, are not talking about chronic pain management, terminally ill patients, or treatments for surgical pain.  When medicine is given after treatments, it enables the patient’s healing through relief of pain and stress.

Pain relief is Dr. J’s specialty and he hopes he can relieve as much pain and suffering on this planet as he can in his short time here.  Dr. J is Board Certified in Interventional Pain Management, specializing in Non-Opioid Treatments for Pain.  He believes that he gives his patient the opportunity to heal themselves – and it is ultimately between them and God.

Listen to today’s show and get a wider view of a complicated world today.  Dr. J and Dr. Bunny remind us that knowledge is power and, as professionals, they are there to help and empower us.

Johannes Ramirez, M.D. – Vitality And Longevity Centers – Being Part Of The Solution for Opioid Addiction!

In this week’s show, Dr. J and Dr. Bunny examine the current opioid crisis. Both professionals have a lot of experience and developed great expertise in working with addicted patients.

Each person/patient is different and one must understand the underlying causes of the addiction.  If a person has cancer and is also taking opioids, they are “not addicted but have a serious medical condition that depends on treatments,” Dr. J says.

Some opioids come from the opium poppy that can be processed into heroin, percocet, narcotics, hydrocodone, oxycodone, and morphine.  Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid and many times stronger than heroin, cheaper and therefore deadlier.  The most common cause of death is when people forget to breathe.

The addiction to opioids crosses all class boundaries from the super wealthy to the poor.   Dr. Bunny has even  treated a minister who found out he was addicted after a surgery!   Both professionals agree that there is no way to taper off from addiction.  You must just stop.

There is now a mandate out against opioid addiction – but it is very important that people are not criminalized for their addiction, Dr. J says.  That drives people to the street for cheap and dangerous solutions.

The bottom line:  We need to find the reason for living besides getting high.

Listen to Dr. J and Dr. Bunny today for no-nonsense pertinent information.  It will help you understand this crisis on a new level and may help save your life or the life of someone you love.

Join Dr. Bunny Vreeland as she continues her new series of shows dedicated to the opioid addiction epidemic.  In today’s show, Dr. Bunny talks with someone (who has asked to remain anonymous), that has been touched by opioid addiction.

Unbeknownst to our guest, her former husband secretly became addicted to opioids while they were married.  She shares the devastating story of how it ruined their marriage, deeply affected her and their son, and the painful process of fighting a custody battle with a man addicted to drugs.  One astonishing fact is that the court apparently did not see this drug use as problematic since the drugs were prescribed by a doctor!

Tune in and learn more about this growing epidemic, how to recognize the signs of someone who’s become addicted, and how you can get help if you, or a loved one, is addicted to opioids.

Many people think that an opioid addiction is something a ‘typical’ drug addict has, and that opioids are an illegal substance. Both of those assumptions could not be further from the truth.

Opioid addiction spans every generation, every walk of life, and affects people who have never been addicted to anything else. The stories are many and varied, and you will be stunned at the people who have unknowingly become addicted to something that was given to them by their doctor.

Ask Dr. Bunny. Opioid Addiction? Part 1

Join Dr. Bunny Vreeland as she launches a new series of shows dedicated to the opioid addiction epidemic.

Today Dr. Bunny shares a story from a very dear friend, Garth Gilmartin. Garth couldn’t join her in-studio due to the arrival of a beautiful new baby into his family, but he wrote his story for her to share, because he wants people to know the importance of this issue – and that it can happen to anyone.

In 2004, Garth went to a doctor for back pain. The doctor suggested Garth see a specialist, and it was determined, after an MRI, that Garth has spinal stenosis (a narrowing of the spinal canal, which can put pressure on the nerves that travel thru the spine).

The specialist put Garth on a pain management regime, where he would take narcotics (Vicodin) 3 times a day. The pain did decrease, but little did Garth know that he was becoming addicted to a drug that would change his life forever.

Tune in and hear Garth’s harrowing story of addiction, withdrawal, and his painful uphill climb to recovery. Garth has been addiction-free for 11 years now, and he is a huge advocate for helping others to make the same decision that he made.

This is a story you need to hear!
