In this week’s show, Dr. J and Dr. Bunny discuss the current state of American food consumption, and why we have a current problem of obesity in this country.
Studies show that some people, including professional athletes, who eat only 1 meal a day, (intermittent fasting) have a higher performance level! They maintain their healthy body weight and are “able to be hyper-functional!”
Of course, Dr. J says, “It has to be something that matches your metabolic system.” It seems that most people who practice intermittent fasting, eat in the evening. Then they have a cup of coffee or tea in the morning.
People are conditioned to believe that they must eat 3 times or more a day or their blood sugar might drop. Truthfully, Dr. J says, our metabolism controls our blood sugar.
America was not always this way. The culture began to change after World War II. Before that, Americans were spry, fit and active. Some of the current situation has to do with how the big corporations, like Monsanto, are influencing our eating habits.
With the proliferation of sugar-laced chemically laden foods, and too many unhealthy high sugar and high carb snacks, people are becoming sugar addicts. They have to put sugar in their mouths every 20 to 40 minutes or they start going through withdrawal!
The hard truth is that there is no good reason for people to put sugar in their bodies!
Hard Sugar Facts
- Sugar is 10 times more addictive than cocaine
- Sugar is 5 times more addictive than Opioids
Dr. J has helped many people achieve their goals. They are surprised at how quickly they reach their goals when they eliminate carbs. Dr. Bunny maintains that losing weight is still very difficult for a lot of people. People may eat because they have subconscious issues and often are “feeding an emotion.”
Both Dr. J and Dr. Bunny agree that people must find the underlying cause that creates the “hunger” to become healthy and eliminate weight.
