Q&A with CIPCUG Session 229

Lisa Toth   Tell me why a new piece of electronics big or small are so hard to set up and get working. Why does following the instructions not produce the results expected. Why is it that the picture in the leaflet or the screen online does not match what you see before you?

Nuro R2

Lisa Toth   I got a new charge 4 Fitbit tracker watch. I have not yet gotten it set up. I follow the instructions but what I see is not what I am supposed to see.

Q&A with CIPCUG Session 228

Lisa Toth   I think my surface may be failing.  This morning the screen started flashing, it isn’t doing it right now.  Plus text

content such as this post shows the characters as if I were seeing double. One on top of the other slightly offset.

Lisa Toth   Computing involves hardware, software and now apps. Then there is the operating system. Is that software or some other thing? Some of the hardware requires drivers.

Q&A with CIPCUG Session 227

Lisa Toth   Found this ‘new’ MeWe social network. Anyone heard of it?

Toby Scott   Just got a call from the “FBI” saying there was a warrant out for my arrest in Texas and that failure to hit 1 on my phone would result in me being labeled a “fugitive”.  I’m supposed to believe this is how the FBI does business.  Sending recorded messages out without naming anyone and telling them they are going to be arrested.  OK, FBI, come and get me.

Sandy Tsutsui-Trujillo  Just got the same call

Q&A with CIPCUG Session 226

Lisa Toth   I am having trouble with One Note.  Since I updated to the most current version and it merged with my old version I am missing a lot of stuff.  Sometimes the ‘section’ is there but nothing is in it even though I know there was something there before.

Q&A with CIPCUG Session 225

Microsoft Latte

Lisa Toth   I participate in a covid 19 survey by Stanford Medical.  Everyday they send me a reminder. I click on the survey button and take the short survey.  This morning no matter where I clicked the link did nothing.  So I right clicked on it, looked at the code

and style sheet.  I could see that it should work.  So I exited the code and tried the button again.  This time it worked!!!  I didn’t try to change anything I just looked at it.
