Patrick Fisher

Patrick Fisher

Artist Patrick Fisher joins Dr. Bunny to discuss art and how became an artist – at 31 years old!  Patrick is a self-taught artist and his unique style is truly excellent.  He describes his style as “contemporary abstract meets street meets kinda grimy”!  We love it and we’re sure you will, too!  Tune in for this fun & inspiring interview!

About Patrick Fisher and Gamut:
Artist, athlete, and entrepreneur Patrick Fisher paints mixed media portraits and abstract expressionist paintings that explore various states of consciousness and illustrate his personal story of rebirth and hope.Patrick says, “The underlying theme of Gamut is my own personal journey in self-acceptance, love, and letting go. The more I step out of my comfort zone the more success we’ve had and that will only keep expanding.  Gamut is my life. I am 100% into everything you see here. I was raised on sports, skateboarding, surfing, music, and came to learn about art,  health/wellness, philosophy, psychology, etc. I wanted to create a brand that represented these things and brought people together.Every experience I’ve had has shaped this brand. Thank you for being a part of it.”

GAMUT by definition is the entire scale, scope, or range of something.  We are an active, art & apparel lifestyle brand, and so much more.

We all have our struggles as well as our strengths and a wide variety of skills. Gamut means something different to everyone. But, across the board Gamut shares the commonalities of creative expression, health/active lifestyle, spreading love and positivity, conscious spending(voting), mutual respect, and giving back to your community every chance you get.
Gamut started in 2012 from a garage. It was originally called Gamut Fitness, a personal training/nutrition/wellness consulting company. As we became more involved in art, the company grew to encompass more areas and a broader scope.
We support artists and athletes alike. We are open to new ideas and constant change. We choose a healthy way of life but everyone has their own path. We see a deep connection in everything and feel it is our duty on this planet to help others as much as we can while respecting their belief systems. There is no formula for life.

Ask Dr. Bunny. Domestic Violence – how can we help? Emily Penza and Beth Baumer, guests

Domestic Violence Candelight Vigil

Domestic Violence Candelight Vigil

Emily Penza and Beth Baumer join Dr. Bunny to discuss domestic violence and their aunt, Jane Laut, who was recently convicted of killing her husband.  Jane testified that she was abused her for decades by her husband and that the killing was in self-defense.  Jane has currently been sentenced to 2 life sentences.

Ventura County has the highest rate of domestic violence statewide -tied with Fresno.  Please tune in and learn how you can help Jane and others who are suffering from domestic violence.

On Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at 5:30 pm there will be a Domestic Violence Candlelight Vigil on the Ventura County Courthouse Lawn, 800 S. Victoria Ave, in Ventura, CA.  Please join us as we stand as one to end Domestic Violence!

From the family of Jane Laut:

Our family deeply appreciates your support.

We ask you for only one thing – write a letter to the district attorney asking him to consider reducing the charge and the sentence against Jane Laut. The district attorney is a public servant and serves at the will of the people. Your voice can be powerful in persuading him to change his mind.

Please don’t pass over this and say, “I’ll get to it later.” The chances are, you won’t. And we need the district attorney to know how we feel right now.

We are asking you to hand-address the envelope because we want this to come from your hand and your heart – and not from an organized campaign. The letter does not have to be something that Shakespeare would have written. It’s most important that it sound like your voice. The major points we would like to make are:

  • Jane Laut’s sentence does not fit the crime. She was convicted of a crime for trying to save her son, she is willing to face the sentence, but 50 years to life is far too harsh for a battered woman acting in self defense, diagnosed with BWS and PTSD
  • Jane is typical of many domestic violence victims who do not report their injuries to police or medical personnel because they are afraid. We know that Jane’s failure to report the abuse did not help her with the jury, but we also know that the district attorney works with hundreds of victims of domestic violence, many of whom have never reported their injuries until they have been battered dozens of times.
  • Jane is a mother of a 17-year-old boy, Michael, who needs to know that he will be with his mother, again sometime.
  • The district attorney originally offered a plea bargain that would have resulted in a 6-year sentence because the DA knew she was a battered woman. Isn’t it possible for the DA to revert to the original idea for punishment?

Thank you again for your support.

Please address your envelope to

District Attorney Greg Totten

800 S. Victoria Ave., Suite 314

Ventura, CA  93009

Ask Dr. Bunny. Beautiful creations from scraps?? Aaron Peacock and Berta Kassai

Aaron Peacock and Berta Kassai

Aaron Peacock and Berta Kassai

Aaron Peacock and Berta join Dr. Bunny to discuss their very interesting life of travel, music, building their home on the side of a mountain in Portugal, and how they use recycled material to make BEAUTIFUL new items!  A very interesting interview that will have you seeing “scraps” in a whole new light!!

More about Scrappy Kids clothing:
“Scrappy Kids” presents one-of-a-kind high-quality clothing created from scraps of fabric, love, and a bit of magic.

The idea of Scrappy Kids was born back in the time when Berta was working as a tailor and sample machinist.  She was always amazed of the quantity of waste (mostly quite large “scraps”!), so she thought it can and should be turned into something beautiful,  instead of being thrown away.

Berta started to collect the scraps and started to sew little recycled jackets to make mommies and stylish kiddies happy 🙂 Now she is also making clothes to adults, too. Of course still only from up-cycled materials!

Ask Dr. Bunny. How important is summer camp for kids? Hugh Haller, guest

Hugh Haller and family

Hugh Haller and family

Hugh Haller, President & CEO of Camping and Education Foundation, joins Dr. Bunny to discuss how he went from being a restaurant owner to being involved in camping and education.  What a fascinating story from a man who’s living his dream!

About Hugh Haller:
Hugh is the President and CEO of the Camping and Education Foundation and Camping and Education, LLC.  He spent 20 years in the restaurant business in Chicago, and ten years as the president and co-founder of Webster Management Group, a private commodity trading firm.  Hugh began his association first with Wasaka Boy’s Club and later Kooch-i-ching, attending as a camper and staff man in the 1960s and 1970s.  Hugh lives in Nashville, TN with his wife Alice and their three children, Joe, Jack and Samantha.

“A summer camp experience is so much more than learning to canoe or singing songs around the campfire,” says Hugh Haller, President/CEO of the Camping and Education Foundation. “Whether children attend a week long day camp or a several week sleep-away camp, the lifelong impact a camp experience can have on a child is monumental. Skills like social interaction, self-confidence, a love and respect for nature, healthy living choices; all of these can be learned and cemented at camp. It is truly a priceless experience and one every child should have a chance to enjoy.”
