Quick Homemade Mashed Potatoes from Scratch
4 large potatoes, peeled perfectly (no spots or skin!!)
1/3 cup whole milk
4 Tablespoons butter
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add potatoes and cook until tender but still firm, about 15 minutes;drain.
- In a small saucepan heat butter and milk over low heat until butter is melted. Using a potato masher or electric beater, slowly blend milk mixture into potatoes until smooth.
Some people use ½ & ½ or sour cream or leave the peelings on and mash it with the rest of the potatoes. There are a lot of ways you can get creative with mashed potatoes!
