In this week’s show, Dr. J talks to Dr. Bunny about being an OB/GYN.  Recently he has been delivering a lot of babies – sometimes 3 a day “at least!”

There is a baby boom going on.  The economy is getting stronger and people are taking risks and making more babies!

Dr. J has some great advice for moms-to-be:  “Prepare you body like you prepare your garden… Treat your body like a temple.”

Start preparing 2-3 months before pregnancy:  Stop drinking alcohol and/or taking drugs, take prenatal vitamins and folic acid, and eat organic and healthy food.  Continue this routine after the baby is born and breast feed!

Dr. J says Mother Nature highly recommends breast-feeding for 2 weeks minimum!  Longer is fine!  When mom’s breast feed, babies have less ear infections, less Attention Deficit Disorder, less Dyslexia, and have higher IQ’s.

Interesting facts:  For each pregnancy, mom’s breast milk “formula” for each of her babies is different.  Lipids, carbs and proteins are adjusted specifically for each baby! Understand that less than 10% of women are unable to breast feed!  Happy babies giggle, smile, and seldom cry unless they want food!

As for the dad – one of his jobs is to help mom feel safe.  This will keep cortisol levels down.  It is important for the baby to feel safe – especially for the first 4-6 years!  Happy babies giggle, smile, and seldom cry unless they want food!

Remember – At all stages mom’s diet is Important!  Diabetes is the most common problem Dr. J is seeing in this generation.  “Obesity begins in the womb because if you eat the wrong foods, the child is born with an excess amount of body fat and a higher Cesarean rate because the baby doesn’t fit through the pelvis.”

Dr. J is passionate about being an OB/GYN!  His aim as a young doctor has not changed.  He is out to save moms, save babies and therefore, save the world!  It has been his “pleasure and honor to serve the people for over 30 years!”
