In this week’s Thanksgiving show, Reverend Kat shows us another way to look at GRATITUDE!

Kat notes that the times when people are focused on “not having” something is the time that they are most miserable.  “Not having is a ridiculous concept!”

Having thoughts of things we don’t have, that we should have, that we are entitled to, creates a negative experience.  For example: There are people who are hungry – they don’t have enough to eat!  Anxiety and fear follow.

You can choose to have thoughts “anchored” in the truth – There are people that are hungry… I wonder what I can do about that?

Neuroscience research shows that it is natural for our brain to feel guilt and shame.  It is not so natural to us to think about being grateful for what we have.

However, research has also shown that if you go looking for something that you like, that you are grateful for, your dopamine levels rise and are activated.

Reverend Kat suggests that during this Thanksgiving week, you go looking for one thing that you are grateful for.  It doesn’t have to be something big. “It can something as simple as your favorite pair of socks!”  Notice the good feeling that comes about.  Notice the negative thoughts that creep in and accept them. Then bring back your thoughts to something that you are grateful for. “This small exercise  creates the loop between you and the people you love.”

Kat wants to hear from you!   What do you like about listening to her show?

Reverend Kat will be back next week with a new show!  Have a great Thanksgiving, and “Remember – let your light shine!”

About Reverend Kat (from her website):

I began my career as a Spiritual Leader when I was 7 years old. Sitting in the field beside my house one day, I asked God why some people were so unhappy. A real voice answered (no kidding),“Your job on this earth is to teach people about love and how to have what they want in life”.

From that day on, I have pursued this with a passion. From my original dream of becoming either a missionary or an actress, I have crafted a career that is grounded in Spirit as I tune into a channel that broadcasts what’s in others’ hearts and souls.

As a spiritual leader, I teach, write, and perform on life’s stage… and, as the voice predicted so long ago, I teach people about love and how to manifest from the heart.

I have faced many challenges in my life including the death of my mother when I was young, being kidnapped as a teenager and leaving a 20 plus year marriage in my 40’s. I have learned a ton through the school of hard knocks and delightful surprises as well as the training noted below.
