renaissanceRADIO for Sassy Seniors: Meet our local Award Winning Artist & Creativity Consultant, Mary-Gail King!

Let’s join Buzz and Rev. Lynn Chaplain-Noe as they meet with this week’s guest artist, Mary-Gail King, who has been in her current art studio location in Camarillo, CA for 7 years. Mary-Gail works with gemstones in her healing practice in addition to many different art modalities, offering a complete choice of options for her art students.

As an art instructor, Mary-Gail brings her students support and guidance as she leads them to her own brand of mindfulness and spirituality. She describes her intention as ‘bringing her students to the path of letting go of their expectations”. She reminds us that it is good to slow down and breathe and invites us to practice breathing with her.

Rev. Lynn acknowledges the importance of controlling your breathing and uses it in her coaching practice, as well. Buzz reminds us that our Sassy friends are about bringing us back to our emotional well-being.

Mary-Gail enjoys working with creatives from other fields and has facilitated major projects with Studio Channel Islands, New West Symphony, the Rubicon Theatre, the Santa Paula Art Museum and more. Wherever there is music, dance, color and fantasy you’ll find her!

She is an Artist in Residence at Studio Channel Islands, studied art and interior design at Meredith College in Raleigh, NC and has a BA in Communication Arts and Marketing from the University of South Alabama. She has painted along the Central and Southern California Coast since 2001 and she is also included in both corporate and private collections in North America and throughout the world.

Ask Dr. Bunny. Do you love to cook? Julieanne Case, guest

Julieanne Case

Julieanne Case

Julieanne Case, amazing artist & superb cook, joins Dr. Bunny to talk about all things food and what inspired her love of cooking.  This is a yummy interview that’ll spark your appetite & your inspiration!

About Julieanne Case:
For many years, cooking and dancing were my means of creative expressions. At a very young age I would lose countless hours painting, using those paint by numbers kits and I loved it. Life changed.

After graduating college, I moved to California. Sometime in my mid 20’s, I enrolled in a figure drawing class and found I was quite adept at capturing the essence of the person being drawn. Cooking and dancing were always part of  my life and once again the art stopped. I began very early to cook and it grew over the years. My natural talent for cooking was fed by experimentation and exploration. My dining room table was my palette for many years where I created a visual painting using the table setting and the food to nourish the person and their soul through sight, smells and tastes.

A couple years after a car accident, a painting class seemed to be calling my name and I listened. Why? Who knows!  Maybe the Universe was telling me to do it. Painting seemed to come naturally to me just like cooking. Most of all, the love for painting blossomed and grew in the first class.  Mixing paints to create my own colors is pure joy to me and the knowledge of what colors go best with each other seems to come naturally.

I love painting. I find it tranformative and at times I know that the painting is happening through me. I love vibrant colors and light.  I also love to take photographs too.  From the first paintings i did, I was told my art had lots of energy in them. Coming from a left brain world, I didn’t understand what they were saying. Once I began to learn energy techniques, what others said made more sense to me.  I learned that I could intentionally infuse my paintings with frequencies (energies).  Color in and of itself is also healing.

It is so easy to lose myself for hours when I paint. Sometimes I step back from the canvas to check the overall picture and I find myself in awe and wondering who painted it all and I love that this happens.  Sometimes I’m on the verge of tears I’m so thrilled with what I see. Of course, I have those times when I wonder what in the world gave me the idea that I think I can paint and what was I thinking and I’m none too happy with what I see before me. Then it’s time to take a  big step back and maybe pick up a different canvas. After awhile I  go back to the one I was having trouble with and due to the beauties of oils, I redo what I’ve done and lo and behold I’m transported again to the feeling of joy and creation and utter gratitude. That is the process of creation. I’m filled with awe and love when I paint and those emotions are in my paintings along with pure unbridled joy!

I love that the art I create has healing frequencies from both the color frequencies and the healing frequencies. Now I’m studying that aspect more to create specialized paintings to help others heal.

Life is truly a journey and you are the driver, the creator of that journey, no one else is.  Are you ready to take control?  Are you ready to learn about yourself?  It’s a wonderful journey if we but open our eyes to see and our heart to the knowing.

Come join me.  I’d love to help you on your journey, the journey to reconnect you to who you really are,  to your unlimited magnificence, to the you that you were meant to be.

Ask Dr. Bunny. Do you believe in miracles? Bill and Shannon Jeralds, Guests

Bill Jeralds

Bill Jeralds

Bill and Shannon Jeralds join Dr. Bunny to share their amazing story.  In 2005, Bill had a serious infection that turned into pneumonia.  His lungs collapsed, he had ARDS (which is Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome), and bacterial sepsis of the blood.

Doctors informed his wife, Shannon, that there was little hope for Bill’s survival, since only about 5% of  people with this disorder live – and if they do live, they are in a vegetative state for the rest of their lives.  However, Shannon never gave up hope & refused to let the hospital turn off Bill’s life support.

Listen in as they share their incredible story of love, hope, trusting your heart – and miracles!  It’s an inspiring interview you don’t want to miss!
